What Makes KiersonConsulting A “New Breed”
Business people and leaders in every type of organization have long been “consultant-weary” and are becoming “coach-weary” as well.
If you are looking for someone who has all of the answers, we are not for you. We may have some answers. Our approach is to give you what you want and need, to be your personal and organizational champions, to take our years of experience at all levels of the organization and apply what we’ve learned where needed. We have nothing to sell you except what you want. We know how to do what we know how to do: inspire and develop leaders, be trusted advisors, help you align your teams, teach you our execution management system and further you on your journey to execution excellence, and help you be true to yourselves.
We will earn your trust. We honor confidentiality 100%. We will tell you what we think you need to know-gently but straight. We will explore with you the best way to get to where you want to go.
A CONSULTANT AND COACH WITH 30 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
About Miles Kierson (by Miles Kierson)
I started KiersonConsulting in 2003 after being a consultant and coach for twenty-five years. I wanted there to be a company that was not the same-old/same-old. I’m sure you know the joke about consultants being like seagulls – they swoop in, make a lot of noise, eat, excrete, and fly away. I have a lot of great friends, colleagues, and teachers who are consultants and coaches, and this isn’t personal. It’s the way this industry that I adore is often seen.
My idea was simple: We’ll help you define where you are going (vision), align your executive team (create the foundation for success), and then help you stay the course and develop the skills you need in order to get there, including execution and leadership capability. We will be your companion on that journey. We will leverage our skills at the more senior levels so that we don’t need a bunch of other consultants and coaches running around your company at a great financial cost to you. Our goal is #1 for you to achieve your vision and #2 to work ourselves out of a job. The irony is that clients tend to want us to stick around, and we’re happy to do that. We each have invested ourselves in our professional relationship and it makes sense to preserve that.
I wrote the book on executive team alignment, called The Transformational Power of Executive Team Alignment. Most of the people I know who have read it say that it is very clarifying to them about what the issues are that they have. I am have finished writing, but not yet published Execution Mastery: A Manual for People Who Work, which I see in my mind’s eye in the hands of everyone in an organization and it is dog-eared and yellow magic-markered and notated everywhere. I also wrote a novel, Seven Provocations, which is about a transformational journey, and I sometimes recommend it to clients, some of whom have told me it made a huge difference to them in their lives.
I have a master’s degree in psychology, but I don’t consider what I do as psychological. More, it makes sense. With Einstein, I believe everything should be “as simple as possible, but no simpler”. I’ve worked with small companies and with very large companies, and in many different industries. Almost everything I’ve learned about consulting, coaching, mentoring, advising, teaching, business, etc., I’ve learned from my clients and my interactions with them – in other words, real experience.
